The first thing you’re going to need is a socket set and spanners. There are many kits available that come with a wide selection of hand tools, screw drivers, Allen keys, spline drives, that are perfect for the job. You’ll need this to strip down your donor car and put your RB200 back together.

A small pry tool set is handy for stripping interior and a jack for removing the wheels and being able to work under the edge of the car. Power tools. A drill, sander, power file and grinder. The power file is optional but will help you out a lot in tight spaces. A selection of sanding blocks is required for bodywork and paint preparation. A selection of sanding discs from 80 grit, 180 grit, 400 grit. A small rotary grinding tool is also handy for getting into tight areas. There might be other small bits you need but that’s the bulk of it other than a workshop is nice but not essential and a kettle which absolutely is essential.
